AMIT MOMAYA, MD

Chief of Sports Medicine - University of Alabama at Birmingham

Dr. Amit Momaya is a sports medicine surgeon and serves as section head of the sports medicine division within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has had extensive training in the care of patients with shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee injuries. 

Dr. Momaya has taken care of athletes at all levels—from the weekend warrior to the professional

KENNY MCCOLLOUGH, JR., MD

Orthopedic Surgeon, Sports Medicine

Dr. Kenny McCollough is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and specializes in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He completed his fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute here in Birmingham, was in residency at Baptist Health System, and attended medical school in town at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

MIKE JOHNSON, MD

Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Johnson received numerous honors, scholarships and awards during his training period, including the Thomas E. Rast Endowed Medical Scholarship at the UAB School of Medicine. Outside of soccer, Maggi is an avid college football fan. The native of Columbia, SC also enjoys going to the beach and spending time with friends and family. 

His clinical interest and specialty is diagnosis, treatment and therapy of foot and ankle disease, injuries, pain management—both non-operative and operative. In addition to his Orthopaedic training, Dr. Johnson is certified in Advanced Cardiac and Trauma

IRFAN ASIF, MD

Family Medicine, Sports Medicine

Dr. Irfan Asif is a Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and specializes in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. He completed a fellowship at the National Institute of Program Director Development, and another at the University of Washington Sports Medicine. He was in residency and completed an internship at the University of Washington Family Medicine
